About the Role
This role plays a critical part in driving the commercial success of battery energy storage projects in Australia.
You will lead business development, structure commercial deals, and engage with key market stakeholders to accelerate deployment and secure high-value opportunities.
Your expertise in energy markets, PPAs, and storage business models will be instrumental in shaping the company’s growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial strategy and business development for utility-scale battery storage projects
  • Identify, assess, and secure project opportunities through partnerships, tenders, and direct negotiations
  • Structure commercial agreements, including PPAs, tolling agreements, and merchant revenue models
  • Develop pricing and financial models to optimise project economics and investment viability
  • Engage with utilities, developers, regulators, and investors to advance storage deployment
  • Lead contract negotiations, risk assessments, and deal structuring for large-scale projects
  • Monitor energy market trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes impacting storage
  • Support investment decisions by providing commercial insights, feasibility studies, and risk analysis
  • Collaborate with technical, engineering, and finance teams to ensure commercial alignment on projects
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and stakeholder meetings
Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience in commercial management, business development, or energy market strategy
  • Strong expertise in utility-scale battery storage, renewable energy, or energy trading
  • Proven success in structuring PPAs, tolling agreements, or revenue models for energy assets
  • Strong financial modelling and commercial analysis capabilities
  • Deep understanding of NEM, energy policy, and market dynamics affecting battery storage
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging utilities, developers, and investors
  • Commercial negotiation expertise, with a track record of securing high-value contracts
  • Ability to navigate regulatory frameworks and policy developments impacting energy storage
