Are you an experienced Systems Safety Engineer with a experience in Software Assurance?

Kinexus is partnering with a major Defence Prime that is currently delivering on a prominent land program, focused on ensuring the safety and reliability of future land platforms and systems.

Whether you're based in Melbourne or interstate, this position offers flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to Defence and national security.

The Role:

  • Create and maintain system-level engineering documents and artefacts.
  • Conduct system analysis, including design studies and evaluations.
  • Lead improvements in the System Safety Process to ensure safety compliance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement System Safety Program Plans, including safety documentation like Safety Case Reports and Hazard Logs.
  • Review design solutions and suggest improvements for system safety compliance.
  • Ensure system safety is integrated into all stages of the product life cycle, covering both hardware and software.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer and stakeholder communication, addressing technical and safety concerns.
  • Participate in design reviews and offer expert advice.
  • Provide system safety training to team members and promote safety awareness.
  • Support the full systems engineering lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Ensure engineering and safety requirements are communicated clearly across teams.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Systems Engineering, RF Communications, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar)
  • Strong background in Systems Safety Engineering, with demonstrated experience in Software Assurance
  • Familiarity with relevant Defence safety standards.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communications and technical leadership skills
  • Good technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Active NV1 (or higher) Security Clearance - Mandatory.

Other Details

  • Contract role until end of the year.
  • End of March/April start.
  • Office in Melbourne - flexible working.
  • Remote applications welcome.
  • Must hold NV1 Security Clearance.
