Your role at St John of God Warrnambool Hospital
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager acts as a responsible and effective team member and leader, assists in the overall clinical management of the ward, is responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by nurses in accordance with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency).
Participates in direct patient care and assists the Nurse Manager with supervision and management duties ensuring all ward activities are in accordance with the ongoing Mission, Philosophy and Values of the St John of God Health Care and objectives of the Nursing Division.
This position is with our Clinical Services team, working up to 37.5hours a fortnight.
The Position

The provision of and coordination of care on a day-to-day basis

In partnership with the Nurse Manager develop, implement and evaluate the clinical standards of the clinical services and ensure compliance with same.

Assists in the Coordination and the provision of total patient care in a safe and professional environment whilst using a problem solving approach with subsequent evaluation of outcomes.

Care is delegated appropriately and is matched with individual caregivers’ skill sets.

Recognises and responds appropriately to unexpected events or rapidly changing situations and where appropriate, reports changes in patients’ condition to Nurse Manager or Senior Nurse and/or medical practitioners and documents identified variations.

Provides advanced nursing skills and leadership to patients with complex clinical presentation’s

Ensures care is delivered in partnership with the patient and their families and the rights and needs of patients is considered and respected.

Supervises the performance of nursing procedures to ensure competent, safe care is delivered within best practice and statutory guidelines.

Reviews and evaluates patient outcome variances and make changes to improve and strengthen clinical outcomes.
You will have a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and with minimum of five (5) years clinical experience.
To succeed you will have to demonstrate practical experience and knowledge of research methodology and evidence-based nursing practice and demonstrate ability to organise and motivate staff.

Salary: $107,72 to $111,330 per annum (Pro rata basis for part-time), plus 11.5% superannuation

Permanent part time position available, working up to 37.5 hours a fortnight.
