Due to the Security Clearance required for this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance.
About the role
The purpose of the System Safety Engineer position is to implement and execute the application of System Safety Engineering methodologies within the Land8710-1A Landing Craft Medium and the broader business.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Conduct the System Safety Program
- System Safety Working Groups
- Hazard Analysis workshops and develop Hazard Log
- Prepare Safety Case Report
- Support other disciplines as required
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
- Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated maturity and depth of experience in MIL-STD-882E or similar.
- Demonstrated maturity and depth of experience defence acquisition and/or sustainment.
- Understanding & practical experience working within a complex project, quality assurance & business improvement process and targeted & effective business solutions and outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience within a classification society or Defence Seaworthiness
- Demonstrated expertise working closely with a design team.
