About the role

This is an amazing opportunity for a ready-made Estimator experienced with Insurance Repairs. You are required to possess a high level of skill in relation to the assessment of damage, repair methodology, and comprehensive report writing and customer service skills. The successful candidate will be working closely with our clients customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure a positive and high-quality repair on every job.

This position is based in the Cairns region.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Attend properties and liaise with property owners to assess damages and accurately scope and quote the repairs required
  • Compile detailed building assessment reports determining the cause of damage and identifying property maintenance issues, defects, and/or building non-compliance
  • Liaise with Supervisors, suppliers, and trades to obtain competitive pricing
  • Prepare comprehensive submissions incorporating accurate cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation to secure projects and maintain records on various insurance platforms such as Prime Ecosystem.
  • Ensure estimated work is completed in line with legislative and WHS&E requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Trade qualification (or Cert IV in Building & Construction)
  • Strong building & carpentry knowledge
  • Experience in insurance estimating, site supervision, or similar
  • High-level computer skills & job management software experience
  • Knowledge of NCC, QBCC Standards & WHS regulations
  • Strong organisation and time management skills coupled with excellent customer service
