The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dedicated Milton Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Team Lead, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a pivotal role within the team, championing financial excellence. This dynamic position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including delivering precise and timely accounting support, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal controls, spearheading process improvements, and mentoring team members.

This is a full-time position with flexible working options, including condensed working weeks, working from home, flexible start/finish times - for the right candidate, and respecting core reporting periods.

Areas of responsibility

  • Providing technical accounting advice to the business
  • Preparation of consolidated statutory accounts
  • Identify, document and improve core organizational reporting requirements
  • Coaching and mentoring of Financial Accountants
  • Provide guidance and support to the Finance Team
  • Month end accounting
  • Coordinate and maintain financial accounts, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Drive continuous process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
  • Liaising with internal and external Business stakeholders
  • Preparation of BAS and FBT returns for review by tax team
  • Accountability for performing and documenting evidence of any internal control activities required
  • Accountability for key external audit activities
  • Other ad-hoc projects, reporting and tasks as and when required

Your profile

You bring extensive financial and corporate accounting experience within a large corporate environment. Your proven ability to work with stakeholders and deliver customer-focused service is complemented by your tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting and/or CA, CPA certification. You excel at prioritizing your work and delegating tasks to ensure team accountability and efficiency.

You demonstrate a strong understanding of organizational, team, and individual priorities, with the ability to effectively organise your work meet deadlines. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and act as an advisor on the application of relevant accounting standards and legislation. Additionally, you are proficient in the Microsoft 365 suite, including Excel and Power BI.
