What you'll do
The HR Business Intelligence team is responsible for maintaining and reporting on various Department of Health's HR Data and Reporting solutions. To achieve this we are looking for a high performing Principal HR Data Engineer who will leverage Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks as well as existing platforms for data processing and analytics. This includes designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and architectures and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. In this role you will work collaboratively within a dynamic reporting unit to handle urgent data requests efficiently and develop robust data models and pipelines, ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
About you
We are searching for someone who can:
- Actively engage in hands-on technical work, including coding, debugging, and optimizing data processes. This role requires a deep technical expertise in Databricks and Azure to implement and manage data solutions effectively. Use a systematic approach to plan, create, and maintain data architectures while also keeping it aligned with business requirements
- Use descriptive data models for data aggregation to extract historical insights and create predictive models for forecasting to learn about the future with actionable insights.
- Conduct research in the relevant industries to address any issues that could arise while tackling a business problem.
- Evaluate implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
