Primary Responsibilities:
- Hands-on sales, customer service, and relationship management
- Oversee all operational activities, including the operation of forklifts and SAP
- Manage staff and site operations, including fabrication using two flat-bed routers and an up-cut saw, as well as the coordination of customer deliveries
- Develop budgets to communicate sales objectives and provide a baseline for measuring actual sales performance
- Provide distribution services to customers within the region, ensuring that standards and processes align with national goals and objectives
- Ensure the site is equipped with the necessary tools and support facilities to fulfil customer orders within the specified time and cost constraints
- Prepare reports to communicate and illustrate performance in meeting objectives, and identify key customer performance issues
- Ensure staffing levels are appropriate to meet sales and customer service objectives, and that employee leave absences are covered Manage the centre to ensure products are stored securely and that operational housekeeping meets the required standards
- Demonstrate effective Safety, Health, and the Environment (‘SH&E’) leadership, communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators, and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives.
- Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimisation, and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for ‘SH&E’.
About You
You will be a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a high-performance culture. To be considered applicants MUST have:
- Previous customer facing sales experience.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage resources to achieve outcomes within specified timeframes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external clients / customers within the local area.
- Some understanding of stock sales and trends forecasts and associated inventory management.
- Basic understanding of financial principles, budgets, and the like.
- Ability to work without supervision and to think strategically.
- Planning and implementation skills.
- Ability to travel (as required) within the role.
DESIRABLE
- Previous sales experience within the aluminium, metals and / or trade industry.
