McCullough Robertson is a commercially focused firm, working with reputable national and international clients. We work on big matters but work in small teams. Employees of all levels are given direct exposure to clients and exciting opportunities to get involved in the firm.
Our goal is for every employee to build a rewarding career that is rich with opportunity, satisfying relationships and a sense of achievement. We do this through extensive training and career development opportunities that allow our employees to prosper.
We are backed by a national team of over 400 staff located in Brisbane, Sydney, and Canberra. McCullough Robertson is a big firm, without the attitude.
The Role
Our Digital & IP team is recognised as a leading practice both in Australia and globally. Across technology, start-ups, life sciences, telecommunications and media, our team brings in-depth industry experience to support a diverse range of private sector and government clients.
Working in this team, you'll be at the forefront of front-end commercial TMT practice, navigating technology, data protection, privacy, competition, consumer issues, intellectual property, and general commercial matters. Our close-knit team values collaboration, innovation, and client satisfaction above all else. You will be exposed to a variety of quality matters and transactions, such as outsourcing and managed services agreements, major IT procurements, as-a-service arrangements, and technology commercialisation and digitisation initiatives. You will also advise on all aspects of data commercialisation and data protection, including concerning privacy and security. You will also assist with franchising, regulatory and trade practices issues, due diligence, and intellectual property matters.
If you are looking for an exciting career opportunity in the areas of technology, data protection, cybersecurity, competition law, consumer protection, intellectual property, and complex commercial contracting, with a leading independent Australian law firm, look no further.
Experience
Based in Brisbane, we are seeking experienced lawyers or newly promoted Senior Associates to work with our engaging and highly experienced National team. You will have experience working specifically in a front-end commercial TMT practice, ideally within a mid to large commercial firm.
Your current practice will focus on technology, data protection and privacy, as well as advising clients on competition and consumer issues, intellectual property and general commercial matters.
Coupled with your commercial experience and strong drafting and technical skills, you will have a natural ability and desire to build strong client relationships. Ideally, you are a technology enthusiast, who is passionate about emerging issues and growth in the technology industry.
