Join the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) and play a pivotal role in shaping a culture of integrity and accountability across the organisation. As a leader in this position, you will drive the development and implementation of the highest ethical standards throughout QBCC. You will oversee integrity and complaint management, assess and manage investigations of alleged misconduct and service delivery issues, and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practices in service delivery. The position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will have the option to work from home for two days per week under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.

Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for investigating customer complaint and employee conduct cases handled by the unit.
  • Manage an investigations caseload to ensure the timely completion of high quality investigations, and prepare exemplary reports, briefing papers and correspondence.
  • Maintain contact with complainants and internal stakeholders regarding the progress and outcome of cases under investigation.

Candidate Atttributes

  • Supports strategic direction - Demonstrated high level knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire high level knowledge of, the legislation and policy applicable to managing customer complaints, employee misconduct and public sector workplace investigations.
  • Achieves results - Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to manage a range of activities and projects within tight timeframes.
  • Supports productive working relationships - Proven experience in establishing and maintaining high level protocols and relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Displays personal drive and integrity - Demonstrated high level skills and expertise in the management of complex and sensitive case management at all levels, including a thorough knowledge of the concepts of natural justice and procedural fairness.
  • Communicates with influence - Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills, and knowledge of contemporary investigation processes and techniques.
