About The Division

The Operations Division manages the effective delivery of QRA managed funding programs, including responsibility for overseeing the joint State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and resilience funded projects by State and Local Government agencies and Non-Government Organisation's.

About The Team

This role delivers technical advice, assessments, solutions and guidance for works under disaster resilience, recovery and reconstruction funding arrangements to ensure compliance with State and Commonwealth disaster funding guidelines.

About The Role

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of funding guidelines and utilise your technical knowledge to complete high quality, high-volume assessment and benchmarking activities.
  • Support the delivery of timely and accurate technical assessments including pre-approvals, estimate updates, plant and equipment assessment, benchmarking and assessment close outs to ensure the team meet QRA's program delivery priorities.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written communication to internal and external stakeholders about guideline requirements to ensure successful project and program outcomes.
  • Follow and maintain established procedures and processes and ensure decisions and actions are ethical, well-documented, justifiable, and transparent.
  • Deliver contemporary and innovative approaches to expert technical assessments and solutions including project work to enhance performance, risk mitigation and the use of technology.
  • Attend meetings and onsite inspections with internal and external stakeholders in Southeast Queensland, and occasionally in regional or remote locations, in Queensland, before, during and after disasters.
  • Represent QRA or the Manager at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and community organisations and incorporate learnings into team and divisional planning.
  • Lead and model highly collaborative internal relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists.
  • This role reports to the Manager, Technical Assessments and Estimation.


QRA's workforce is agile and ready to respond quickly to support disaster priorities. You may have the opportunity to undertake other temporary duties or work in alternative locations to support impacted communities.
