The mental health workforce plays a critical role in promoting and sustaining the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across Australia. Medacs Healthcare are a dedicated agency healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality mental health services to communities in regional, rural, and remote areas. We are seeking compassionate and experienced Mental Health Community Clinicians to join our team.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, interventions, and support to individuals and families in underserved communities. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care and promote mental well-being. You will have to chance to travel Australia, build on your skills and experience, all whilst receiving a competitive rate and receiving support for accommodation.

Role Details

Contract Length: Minimum of 12 weeks availability, this allows for an adequate orientation and the opportunity to provide continuing care.

Locations: Our clients are based in various locations in Regional and Remote WA

When: Start dates vary and are flexible to your availability. We want to find the perfect contract for you, whilst working with the facility and their staffing requirements.

Requirements to apply

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., AHPRA, AASW).
  • A minimum of three years' experience in mental health community settings, preferably in regional, rural, or remote areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualised care plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, and support services.
  • Educate and empower clients and their families about mental health.
  • Participate in community outreach and mental health promotion activities.
