Base Salary: $82,061 to $139,207 plus 17% superannuation

Position: Part Time (0.4FTE, working days – Thursday and Friday preferable) Continuing.

Location: Port Macquarie, NSW

The position

As the Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics, you will oversee and support Nutrition and Dietetics student placements in the Port Macquarie Hastings and surrounding districts. You will liaise with placement supervisors and students in the region, coordinate timetabling for Nutrition and Dietetics student placements, provide sessional face-to-face teaching and collaborate with other academic and professional staff to develop and implement interprofessional education and research opportunities.

This role will provide direct student placement supervision for students on Medical Nutrition Therapy, Community Public Health Nutrition and Food Service placements within our partner organisations.

About you

You will be an experienced nutritionist or dietitian with an interest in student teaching and learning. You will also be passionate about redressing rural health inequity.

To be successful in this role you will:

Hold a recognised Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (at a Level A) Hold a PhD in addition to a recognised Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (at a Level B) Hold or be eligible for Registration or membership (as applicable) with the relevant regulatory or accrediting organisation. Have a minimum of two years relevant post-graduate practitioner experience. Demonstrate experience in teaching and student supervision. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be able to effectively work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Hold a current Driver’s license. Have knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

The following criteria is highly desirable but not essential:

Previous academic work experience. Knowledge of and experience in rural, remote and Indigenous health issues. Post graduate qualifications in research or education.

A Working with Children Check and Criminal Records Check will be required for this position.
