About the Role
The Senior Metabolic & Bariatric Dietitian will be working in conjunction with the Care Co-Ordinator within the CALHN Metabolic & Bariatric Clinic team. This role sits within a multidisciplinary team operating in an outpatient setting to support patients with severe obesity and complex co-morbidities through a medical or surgical pathway.
As a Senior Clinical Dietitian, you will take on a key role in the nutrition and dietetic care of patients within this specialty area, evaluating care, and ensuring the application of clinical dietetic policies and procedures. With your specialist knowledge and expertise, you will be responsible for the review and development of dietetic services, working with limited supervision and providing leadership in your area of focus.
In addition to your clinical duties, you will offer support and supervision to fellow dietitians, both within the department and externally, providing professional consultancy to medical, nursing, and food services teams. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the evidence base through quality improvement initiatives, research, and play a pivotal role in the education and development of future dietitians.
About You
We are looking for a qualified and motivated Dietitian with a passion for making a difference in clinical nutrition.
Key role requirements include:
- Full membership eligibility with the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in relevant clinical nutrition, enteral feeding, and developing nutrition care policies.
- Leadership abilities, with demonstrated organisational and problem-solving skills to deliver quality care and training.
