About the role

As an Upper GI Fellow, you will work closely under the supervision of the Head of Unit (HOU) and senior consultant staff, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a specialised clinical setting. You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with professionals from various specialties to provide exceptional care to patients. This is an exciting opportunity to deepen your expertise in Upper GI surgery while developing active relationships with consultant staff and enhancing your professional network.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in the teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students. You will also have the chance to initiate and lead research projects, contributing to advancements in Upper GI care. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about expanding their skills, fostering a collaborative environment, and making meaningful contributions to both clinical practice and research.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Upper GI Fellow to join our team and contribute to high-quality patient care, teaching, and research.

About You:

  • Qualifications: FRACS (or equivalent) in a relevant specialty, eligible for AHPRA registration.
  • Skills & Experience: Strong surgical skills, including minimal access surgery and suturing, with over 4 years of senior General Surgery training.
  • Research & Teaching: Interest in research and publications, with a willingness to contribute to teaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Knowledge & Values: Solid understanding of the Adelaide Health Service's philosophy, principles, and goals in the relevant specialty.
