Job Description:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker Assistant to provide high-quality care to our client, a male living with a spinal cord injury. This role involves assisting with various personal care needs and ensuring his well-being and comfort throughout the day. This role is based in West Wallsend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working across a 24/7 set fortnightly roster on a CAS or PPT basis
- Assist with personal care, including grooming, bathing, and dressing.
- Provide bowel care and catheter management.
- Administer PEG feeding as required.
- Assist with medication management and administration.
- Prepare and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Ensure that care is delivered in accordance with his care plan and any instructions from healthcare professionals.
- Previous experience in personal care or nursing (preferred).
- Understanding of spinal cord injury care and related needs.
- Experience with bowel care, catheter management, and PEG feeding.
- Knowledge of medication administration and meal prep.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or a booking to complete one -mandatory
- Valid driver’s licence and vehicle with comprehensive insurance -mandatory
- NSW Working With Children - Employee - mandatory
- NDIS Worker Screening Check - Employee - mandatory
- Completion of NDIS Quality, Safety, and You module
