Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on metallic materials to improve their performance, durability, and manufacturability
  • Analyze and evaluate the properties of metals and metal alloys through laboratory testing
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve material-related issues in manufacturing processes
  • Develop and implement testing protocols and materials specifications in compliance with industry standards
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in metallurgy and material science to influence innovative practices
  • Document findings and present results to stakeholders to support decision-making processes
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior staff and team members


Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Metallurgist or in a similar role focusing on metal processing and material development
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy principles, material properties, and testing methodologies
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to metallurgical practices
