About the roleThe Environmental Specialist is responsible for partnering with the business to provide environmental leadership, driving changes to support the corporate strategy and associated projects, manage environmental approvals and provide environmental planning advice and support, develop and relevant processes or systems, and mentoring and capacity building on complex and challenging environmental issues.
Key accountabilities
- Support, motivate and drive change to achieve environmental sustainability outcomes, building constructive partnerships and focus on service delivery for the business
- Manage environmental approval process for projects and works to support the achievement of compliance obligations and sustainable outcomes
- Manage the preparation/ co-ordination of specialised environmental reports, plans and associated consultants/contracts
- Liaise with a wide range of relevant external stakeholders as required and establish effective working relationships
- Conduct and deliver environmental: auditing programs; inspections; risk management, incident investigations and effective actions
- Contribute to environmental education, awareness programs and environmental sustainability projects
- Assist in maintaining and implementing the Environmental Management System (EMS) and supporting workers in the implementation of the EMS

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning, Environmental Horticulture or a similar discipline.
Licenses/Tickets
- C Vehicle license up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM)
- Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course
