Job Opportunity
The Assistant Accountant will be reporting directly to the CFO and will assist in taking the company's financial operations and functions to the next level. You will be responsible for providing effective finance, tax and accounting support to the business operations and Finance department; specifically in the financial accounting, statutory reporting, and banking areas.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Accounts payable - posting of invoices, payables aging reports and payment proposals
- Processing fortnightly payroll for multiple entities in Australia and overseas
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Data and cost analysis
- Assisting the CFO by ensuring all invoices are correctly approved, allocated and entered
- Assisting the CFO in their tasks and deliverables related to month end processing, reporting, reconciliations, taxation and compliance
- Ad hoc tasks
About You
You enjoy working in a small size hands-on team, and proactively looking for process improvement, automation and efficiency gains. This role requires a highly motivated, professional who is positive, polished and will enjoy taking additional responsibility.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum two years’ experience in a finance role
- Must have excellent written and spoken English, strong communication skills and highly organized
- Positive work ethic and ability to work with a high level of autonomy
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Must be proficient in Xero and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
