Are you an experienced reporter with a strong interest in rural industries and issues? Do you enjoy breaking news, telling compelling stories and creating content that informs, educates and entertains? We are looking for a Rural Reporter to join our team of experienced journalists at ABC Wide Bay based in Bundaberg.
This is a region bursting with natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, with its subtropical climate, lush landscapes, and a thriving agricultural scene dubbed the "country's fruit bowl". It is one of the most diverse primary producing regions in the nation.
The RoleReporting To The Editor, ABC Wide Bay, You WillPrepare and present audio content for the Rural Report and Country Hour.Identify, develop and produce local, statewide and national news and content for video, web and app as well as social media.Support the broader team on major news events and collaborate with colleagues on shared projectsContribute to the implementation of the Local Emergency Coverage plan.
About YouYou will bring media experience with a proactive, can-do approach to creating interesting and innovative stories. You will have emerging cross-platform production skills and an understanding of the issues and events important to the local community.
You Will Be Able To Demonstrate That You AreAn accomplished reporter and presenter with demonstrated experienceExperienced in creating authentic content for radio and digital platforms that represents the broad diversity of the Australian community.Experienced in rural and resources journalism and with an in-depth understanding of rural, resources and regional issuesKnowledgeable about local, national and international rural issuesAble to travel to remote locations when required
