Aussie World is seeking a passionate and experienced Gardener to join our team on a full-time basis (Monday - Friday) at our Palmview, QLD location. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the park’s vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring healthy, well-maintained landscapes and preserving the park’s aesthetic appeal.What you'll be doingAssess the condition of plants and trees to determine the appropriate treatment i.e. fertilisers and sprays Identifying and treating diseases, pest infestations and other issues with garden plants Grow and raise seedlings - sowing, planting and cultivating trees and plantsManaging irrigation and application of plant protection productsRemove leaves, litter, and debris to improve outdoor areasPruning and trimming plants, shrubs, and hedges Providing recommendations for gardensMaintain gardening tools and equipmentMulching and other garden tasksCleaning up garden areasCut limbs off trees What we're looking forQualification in Horticulture - Certificate III (highly desirable)Previous gardening/horticulture experience required ideally within a commercial environmentExtensive knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practicesBe passionate about plants and horticulture and enjoy working outdoors in the elementsMust be physically fit, physical requirements include but are not limited to carrying, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, twistingCurrent manual drivers license essentialA high level of understanding and commitment to Workplace Health and SafetyExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a teamProactive and self-motivated, with a strong commitment to promoting a clean and green environmentWhat we offerAt Aussie World, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment.
