About the Role
Our Public Liability team are leaders in the field and as such we are growing. We are committed to supporting people who are hurt in a public place as a result of another individual or an organisation’s negligent behaviour, and guide them on how they may be covered by public liability law and be eligible to receive compensation. Now that’s a job with strong purpose!
We are looking for an Associate in our Melbourne CBD office, with a strong client service focus, a personable approach where relationships matter to you, and a strong commitment and work ethic. Your commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for our clients will be put to the test.
As an Associate in our Public Liability team, you will:
- Promote and demonstrate MB values of courage, compassion, collaboration, fairness and tenacity in our daily work to assist in going Fearless Forward to achieve our purpose. We exist to extend access to justice, so the law can serve everyone
- Highly proficient technical expertise in Practice Team and legal procedures
- Effectively manage and transact file load and client expectations
- Provide legal advice to each client's particular matter to suit their level of understanding
- Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and managing the client's expectations
- Prepare legal documentation and correspondence with increasing autonomy
Key Selection Criteria
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in area of Practice desirable, but not essential
- Proven ability to work to critical deadlines
- Logical problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational, attention to detail and time management skills and strong delegation skills
- Strong presentation skills for both a legal and non-legal audience.
