About the Teachers Registration Board:
The Teachers Registration Board (the TRB) is established under the Teachers Registration and Standards Act 2004 (the Act) and the Teachers Registration and Standards Regulations 2021 to regulate the teaching profession. The object of the Act is, in the public interest, to maintain a teacher registration system and professional standards for teachers to ensure its members are competent, fit and proper to have the care of children.
The TRB employs its own staff and is a public sector agency under the Public Sector Act 2009 . The South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award and the South Australian Public Sector Enterprise Agreement: Salaried 2021 governs the employment conditions of the Board.

Role Description
The Administration Support Officer – Qualifications and Admissions provides high-level administrative support, particularly in relation to hearings, overseas qualification assessments and Admissions Sub-Committee meetings to assist Teachers wishing to register in South Australia, or renew their registration.
This role is offered at part time (0.4FTE), at the ASO3 Level and for a short-term contract of 12 months - located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD.
Role Summary
The Administration Support Officer – Qualifications and Admissions is accountable to the Manager, Registration for:
- The delivery of high-level administrative functions, including first tier problem solving and document preparation in collaboration with Registration subject experts in three key areas where record keeping and promotion of procedural fairness is required:
- pro-forma applications to Board panel hearings under part 5 of the Act where applicants seek registration using best practice materials as adapted; and
- pro-forma applications for assessment of overseas qualifications; and
- compilation of materials for presentation to the Admissions Sub-Committee for determination of applications for registration and follow up actions and Minutes
- Supporting, when directed, the Registration team across a range of registration day-to-day operations, focusing on general administrative tasks as required.
- Maintaining effective procedures to ensure the TRB meets whole-of-government and agency standards, legislative and best practice requirements.
- Ensuring all individuals contacting the TRB via phone, email, or by attending the office are greeted and provided with a service that is centred on the customer (our clients) in a polite, timely, professional and courteous manner.
- Contributing to the delivery and maintenance of efficient work practices within the TRB.
Selection Criteria
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills that result in effective and appropriate verbal and written communication with a range of people, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds.
- Experience in providing clear, concise and accurate information to clients face to face, in a friendly courteous manner and providing administrative support services in a demanding environment to facilitate timely provision of documents for determination hearings and Sub-Committee meetings subject to appeal processes.
- Demonstrated strong experience in applying customer driven service excellence with competing duties.
- Ability to prepare pro-forma documentation under limited supervision.
- Ability to analyse, evaluate and apply information to support Board hearings and Sub-Committee meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic and exercise confidence, sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential matters and difficult clients.
Organisational Skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently with limited supervision and in a team to achieve agree objectives.
- Ability to work as part of a team harmoniously and effectively transfer knowledge to colleagues at all levels.

- Experience in the delivery of administrative services to internal and external customers.
- Experience with managing databases in a business environment.
