Description:

Townsville Hospital and Health Service , is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

This position is located at Kirwan Health Campus and delivers comprehensive mental health, rehabilitation and addiction assessment and treatment to the North Queensland community.

Patient Services Officer
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary full-time, 12 months (with the possibility of extension of up to 2 years)
Location: Kirwan Health Campus, Townsville

  • Salary range: $2950.00 to $3280.70 p.f. (AO3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • Advanced customer service experience relevant to the public health setting including the demonstration of patience, understanding, confidentiality and a positive approach that includes the ability to deescalate difficult situations will be highly regarded.
  • High level written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders at various levels will be highly regarded.
  • Your ability to demonstrate awareness of, and ability to actively and effectively participate in a working environment supporting contemporary human resource practices including workplace health and safety, employment equity and anti-discrimination, ethical behaviour and continuous improvement will be highly regarded.
  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): This is a VPD risk role.
