We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced coordinator to join our team working across two key roles; School Focused Youth Service Coordinator (7 days per fortnight) and School Community Engagement Officer (3 days per fortnight).
The SFYS Coordinator works in partnership with schools and other community organisations to address chronic school absenteeism and prevent students from disengaging from school. Click here to view the full position description.
The SCEO works as part of the Social Cohesion Through Education Program, which aims to enhance social cohesion in school communities in the City of Greater Dandenong and City of Case LGAs. Click here to view the full position description.
Working across both roles you will:
- Plan, implement, review and evaluate the School Focused Youth Service work plan and collect data as appropriate.
- Coordinate the provision of community-based services in partnership with school and community agencies to support schools to address the need of at risk young people.
- Develop a support model that promotes a greater whole of community commitment to the engagement in learning and retention of young people with multiple disadvantages.
To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in both position descriptions, including having a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related tertiary qualification relevant to child and family welfare.
You will also have:
- An understanding of the barriers experience by disengaged learners and social cohesion issues
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the current Victorian Education System
- Demonstrated experience in leading, developing and managing projects/program initiatives
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and provide professional consultation to a range of professionals
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
