About Us
Rural Care Australia (RCA) is a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering intergenerational services across the township of Merbein, Victoria. We operate Chaffey Aged Care, a 100-bed residential aged care facility, and Generations Early Learning, a 72-place long early years’ service which is one of Australia’s first shared site Intergenerational Early Learning services.

About the Position

If you're driven by purpose and ready for meaningful work, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s what your day as an RN at Chaffey Aged Care could look like:
Overseeing and delivering excellent person-centred resident care in relation to management of diabetes, wounds, infections, pain and medications that meets the needs of the residents and their families
Delivering professional healthcare by conducting thorough assessments contributing to comprehensive care plans and their evaluations with residents
Enhancing resident wellbeing by delivering personalised care that aligns with industry requirements and individual needs
Being the go-to trusted liaison for residents, their families, and representatives in regards to their care and wellbeing.
⚕️Providing expert clinical advice and clinical leadership for EN’s, PCA’s and CSA’s across shifts, modelling effective assessment, case management, care planning, care coordination, care implementation and review using a person centred approach.
Delivering treatment solutions in relation chronic health conditions, wound care, infections, pain management and medication management and delivery.
Maintaining accurate documentation relating to the residents care and well-being
Liaising with Medical Officers and allied health representatives regarding resident care
Liaising with relevant key stakeholders for critical notifications and incidents and assume a first responder role and facility representative for all emergencies
Collaborating with EN’s, CSA’s and PCA’s in the delivery of care, hygiene, mobility, meal management, emotional support, medical equipment management and dementia support to residents in line with our organisations vision, mission and values
Following legislative, industry and organisational standards as it relates to quality, resident outcomes, care outcomes & minutes, infection control, storage & administering of medications and occupational health and safety
Above all, bringing a cheerful attitude and compassionate approach to every interaction with residents.
Work across our rotating roster with shift options for:
Morning – 07:00am – 15:00pm
Afternoon – 14:00pm – 22:00pm
Evening – 21:30pm – 07:30am
About You
As our next Registered Nurse, you’re excited to bring the following qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to our team:
✔️A Bachelor of Nursing or international equivalent
✔️Up to date registration with the Australian Health Professional Registration Agency with nil findings or restrictions.
✔️A solid understanding of best practice, evidence-based care, and consumer-directed care within an aged-care environment
✔️Proven leadership capabilities, communication skills and interpersonal abilities when collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and residents
✔️Diligent record keeping skills, coupled with a confidence in utilising aged-care specific software applications such as MANAD and MedSig (or similar)
✔️Responsive, reliable and dependable in nature
✔️Commitment to delivering individualised, compliant and compassionate care to residents at all times
✔️Demonstrated knowledge of the Aged Care Act, mandatory reporting obligations, the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards, and the Aged Care Classification Funding Model will come highly regarded
✔️Confidence in – and ability to - act in our After-Hours Coordinator role as rostered
✔️ Australian Working Rights
✔️Availability for 15 - 37.5 hours of shifts per week.
