The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will assist in managing the financial processes for their business and investment entities. This will include:
- Managing the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to support business planning
- Ensuring compliance with tax obligations, including BAS, GST, and payroll tax reporting
- Providing financial insights to support business decisions and improve efficiency
- Maintaining accurate financial records and implementing best practices for financial management
Your Profile
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Cert IV, Diploma, or Degree preferred)
- 2+ years' experience in an assistant accountant role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in financial software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment
