Your New Role:


Kempsey Shire Council is looking for an experienced Water and Sewer Maintenance Manager to lead a team responsible for the maintenance, renewal, and upgrade of water and sewer infrastructure.


This key role involves managing asset renewals and minor capital projects, ensuring service reliability, and meeting regulatory standards. You will oversee a team of technicians in maintaining SCADA systems, electrical assets, and mechanical equipment, while also ensuring preventative maintenance programs are effectively developed and executed.


The position also includes contributing to strategic planning, procurement, contract management, and continuously improving service delivery to meet the evolving needs of the community.

About You:


The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in water and wastewater infrastructure, with proven expertise in managing maintenance operations, small projects, and contractors.


You will also possess strong leadership and project management skills, superior organisational and communication skills, be committed to the provision of quality internal and external stakeholder engagement and have sound facilitation, conflict management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
