We’re a family-run business, deeply rooted in values that span generations. As we expand, we’re looking for a Senior Category Manager to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms.
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for managing a specific category of products or services within a company. They will work closely with the marketing, sales, and procurement teams to ensure that the company's offerings in their category are competitive and profitable.
Key operational accountabilities include:
- Analysing market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and threats in the category.
- Developing and implementing category strategies and plans to achieve business objectives.
- Working with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure the company gets the best value for its purchases.
- Developing and managing product assortments within the category to optimize sales and profitability.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing and promotional activities to drive category sales.
- Monitoring and analysing category performance metrics, such as sales, margin, and inventory levels, to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, sales teams, and customers, to ensure successful category management.
- Staying up to date with industry and market trends to identify new opportunities and emerging threats.
- Managing and coaching team members responsible for the category.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ability to understand and thrive in a multidimensional national fresh produce supply chain
- Ability and confidence to make considered commercial decisions in what is a complex and dynamic marketplace.
- Highly developed relationship development and management skills
- Strong numeracy skills
- Practical, systemic, and calm approach to problem solving
- Attention to detail with a sense of urgency and a “can do” attitude.
- Ability and willingness to work in a highly interdependent team environment
- Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, including weekends and public holidays.
- Flexibility to travel inter-state.
