Garden Maintenance Supervisor - Cairns
About the Role
We are looking for two Garden Maintenance Supervisors to lead and coordinate a team responsible for landscaping and garden upkeep. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely, and maintaining high standards of service. The successful candidates will be hands-on, mentoring team members while managing schedules, resources, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team to meet operational and compliance requirements.
- Plan and allocate tasks, manage materials, and liaise with subcontractors.
- Participate in garden maintenance and landscaping duties alongside the team.
- Oversee equipment upkeep, ensuring all tools are maintained and operational.
- Enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Train and mentor team members, providing ongoing development support.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding progress and efficiency.
- Monitor budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
- Identify training opportunities and support skill development within the team.
- Address performance concerns and implement corrective actions when needed.
Skills & Experience
- Background in horticulture, landscaping, or a similar field (qualifications desirable).
- Practical experience in garden maintenance, including plant care and lawn upkeep.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Physically fit with a passion for working outdoors.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid C Class driver’s licence with manual driving capability.
- Valid LR Class driver
- White Card
- Working with Children Blue Card and a satisfactory Police Check. (or willing to obtain)
- Competency in operating landscaping equipment where applicable.
