About the role
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Diesel Fitter/Mechanic with a proven track record of achieving results in a similar position.
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Diesel Fitter/Mechanic is an integral part of KRSP’s operational team who contributes to our success by ensuring the reliability of essential service infrastructure.

Key responsibilities of the role:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance on diesel generators within remote power stations
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifespan
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults and failures, identifying and resolving issues efficiently
- Respond to unplanned maintenance and repairs
- Maintain accurate and complete service records
- Assist with the servicing and maintenance of water, water treatment and wastewater service assets
The role operates on a drive in/drive out roster basis from Broome to remote communities in the Kimberley.
Local Kimberley residents are encouraged to apply, as are candidates interested in relocating to the Kimberley region. FIFO is available for those located outside of the Kimberley region. The roster for this position is 18:12.
What you will need
An ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices together with a positive mindset.
Essential criteria:
- Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter) preferred, or considerable experience as an Automotive Mechanic
- Minimum 3 years post trade experience
- Advanced fault finding and diagnostic ability
- Current C class driver’s licence and a good driving history
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with an adaptability to different audiences
- Capacity to work in remote location, inclusive of driving on remote unsealed roads
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team
- Medium to Heavy Rigid (MR/HR) driver’s license
- First aid, including CPR and LVR
