The roles

We are currently looking for two Business Support Officers (BSO) to join our team. This role involves providing vital administrative support to the Liveable Communities and Development Assessment and Building teams.

Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, can handle multiple tasks, and is committed to supporting the delivery of services across the organisation. If you're energetic, proactive, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team, this could be a great fit.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Generating and managing correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Providing professional services and accurate communication to staff and customers.
  • Assisting staff with Council systems and processes.
  • Managing electronic files and data entry.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for procedures, user guides, and training materials.
  • Ensuring quality control for customer documents.

What you’ll bring:

  • Certificate III or higher in Business Administration/Customer Engagement or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an office environment.
  • High-level digital literacy, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, along with accurate typing and data entry skills.
  • Understanding of meeting procedures and minute-taking.
  • Strong communication abilities for effective interaction with both Council staff and the public.

Permanent Part-Time

Salary: $33.48 p/hour plus superannuation.

Tenure: Permanent Part-Time - 21 hours per week. (Days negotiable with the successful candidate).

Fixed-Term Full-Time

Salary: Commencing salary package circa $60,950 plus superannuation.

Tenure: Fixed-Term contract until February 2026, 35 hours per week.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
