About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager the role will oversee and operate the fruit grader equipment and machinery with high proficiency as well as lead a small team. Manage all quality, staffing and operational surrounding the equipment.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and give ongoing mentoring to all grader operators. Conduct in-house training and contribute to continuous improvement with proactive suggestions.
- Coordinate operator rosters and assist Production Manager in managing/hiring staff.
- Troubleshoot reported problems, resolve and document them in a timely manner.
- Conduct minor repairs and cleaning in conjunction with Maintenance Engineer and external technicians to optimize equipment reliability.
- Lead in keeping grading equipment up to date, informing management of budget requirements and recommendations to optimise grading performance.
- Keep records of maintenance/work undertaken, report on issues and track due dates for servicing. Show due care for equipment to minimize wear and tear or damage.
- Check grader reports correspond with grower inputs and any grower services, marketing and quality control grading/packing requirements. Aim to maximise bin carton pack-outs.
- Use company equipment responsibly/safely, according to manufacturer’s specifications and company and Health and Safety regulations.
- Complete administrative, record keeping, or compliance tasks as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience with TOMRA Spectrum software is highly desirable
- Sound mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining and repairing grading equipment in a citrus packing facility is desirable.
- Sound experience as a team leader or supervisor
- Proven practical experience with accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to interact with various software packages to gather information, communicate issues and execute system control changes to ensure the best outcomes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skill with a demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise effectively with staff
- Well developed work planning and organisation skills, and demonstrated ability to address fluctuating work demands and changing priorities
- Available to work up to 6 days per week and a flexible shift time arrangement.
