As a Financial Analyst, you will work alongside a highly credentialed team with deep investment banking and venture capital experience, gaining exposure to complex financial structuring, private capital, and investing. About The Role
You will develop and maintain dynamic financial models, produce data-driven insights, and collaborate with both internal teams and external clients. Your work will inform critical decisions for advisory clients and potential portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis Conduct detailed financial analyses to support internal and external decision making, including specific client requirements, and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.Reporting Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports for clients, internal business purposes, and investor updates. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance in all reporting outputs.Financial Modeling Build and maintain financial models to support client requirements and investment evaluations, including cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, portfolio performance, and valuation modeling.Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with the Ecotone Partners' Team, founders, investors,and other stakeholders, providing clear financial insights that support their decision-making.Process Improvement Continuously seek ways to enhance financial reporting processes and improve the usability of financial models, ensuring they remain robust and relevant.Ad Hoc Projects Undertake projects such as researching new investment opportunities, performing equity valuation analysis and/or credit analysis, preparing investment papers, developing pricing models for new products, or analysing market trends to support Ecotone Partners' growth.
About You
We are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about making a positive impact through their work. You should have a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. You should like the structure of financial modelling and analysis, and be open to working with incomplete data sets and forecast information that can change quickly.
Key Attributes
Financial Modeling Expertise Proficiency in building and maintaining complex financial models in Excel or similar tools. Ability to manipulate large datasets, perform scenario analyses, and develop dynamic reports.Analytical Mindset Skilled at interpreting financial data, identifying key insights, and communicating them effectively to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.Programming Skills Experience with R, Python, and databases is not essential but definitely a plus.Attention to Detail Commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work. You need to understand the importance of precision in financial modeling and reporting.Strong Communicator Able to convey complex financial concepts succinctly and clearly, both in written and verbal forms.Highly Organised Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines, and ensuring steady progress across all workstreams.Curious and Self-Motivated Eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. Proactively able to seek opportunities to improve processes and contribute to Ecotone Partners' success.
Candidates must be Melbourne or Sydney based, have prior experience and an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (we are not able to sponsor). We operate a hybrid work environment with attendance 3+ days a week either in Richmond, Victoria, or Sydney, NSW.
