Take advantage of MRAEL's BuildUP: Inclusive Pathway to Construction Careers Project (Certificate I in Construction Traineeship).

This qualification provides an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles, and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organization structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials. The qualification is built around a basic construction project unit that integrates the skills and embeds the facets of employability skills in context.

MRAEL, in partnership with Major Training, will be delivering the Certificate I in Construction Program at no cost to eligible participants in Morayfield.

Participants will be supported by a dedicated MRAEL Mentor to deliver work readiness training and employability skills. You will also be provided with support to obtain successful Apprenticeship outcomes, post proghram.

This qualification is ideal for candidates who want to start a career in the construction industry and are seeking to develop their skills and knowledge in this area. By completing a Certificate I in Construction you will be prepared to establish a solid foundation in construction skills and pursue sustainable employment. This is achieved through the delivery of relevant accredited training and intensive development of employability and work readiness skills, setting you on the path to begin your career.

Eligibility for the program!

To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be aged over 15 years and no longer at school or have disengaged
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (some Visas)
  • Require complementary services because they have significant barriers to learning and employment or have accessed Australian Government employment services for more than six months and remain unemployed

Please note students who have completed a Certificate I, 2 or 3 in Construction are NOT ELIGIBLE for this program!

  • Duration : 12 weeks, 5 Days per week
  • Commencement Date: 31st March 2025 - 23rd June 2025
  • Cost: Free to eligible participants
  • Location: Morayfield
