Biodiversity and Conservation Science coordinates and delivers science in the department, providing science and biodiversity knowledge to support the functions of the Parks and Wildlife Service, Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, Zoological Parks Authority and Rottnest Island Authority. Biodiversity and Conservation Science is structured into programs focused on key themes for the delivery of targeted science to support evidence-based decision making and the conservation and land management functions of the department.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Policy Officer, Natural Environment - Sector Adaptation Plan.
Under limited direction, you will:
- Lead the delivery of a Natural Environment Sector Adaptation Plan as part of the whole of government commitment and wider multi-agency collaboration to identify sector-specific climate impacts and adaptation actions.
- Provide policy leadership and implements complex interagency and external stakeholder engagement, defining policy outputs to meet biodiversity and conservation science stakeholder needs.
