The Role: Operations Manager
Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Operations Manager oversees in-service support operations for the Collins Class Submarine sonar suite in Western Australia. This role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations at Thales’ Rockingham site while supporting customer commitments at multiple Western Australian sites, and teams deployed nationally / internationally as required. Additionally, the Operations Manager acts as a deputy to the Scylla ISS Programme Manager, driving high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enforce safety, security, and compliance requirements across all operations.
- Drive team engagement, development, and performance management.
- Manage teams providing maintenance, configuration, and support services under the Scylla ISS contract.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to safety, security, and corporate processes.
- Manage customer reporting, project risks, and workforce planning.
- Oversee repair workshop and warehouse operations, integrating them into the business supply chain.
- Support business improvements, including process optimisation and system enhancements.
- Represent Thales within the Collins Enterprise Delivery Team.
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or project management.
- Project Management Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- 5+ years’ experience in senior operations or business management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven experience in customer and service management.
- Skilled in coaching and team development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, self-management, and planning skills.
