Senior Commercial Manager – Townsville Office
We're excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager opportunity in Townsville. This pivotal leadership role will oversee both operational and capital expenditure (capex) commercial responsibilities, driving our strategic growth and commercial success.
As the Senior Commercial Manager, you'll lead the Townsville-based commercial team, providing essential support to Budget and Contract Owners. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our business is equipped to meet production targets while driving sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, execution, and management of category plans grounded in in-depth research and data analysis, aimed at delivering optimal value-for-money outcomes that align with both stakeholder requirements and business objectives.

Formulate and implement innovative sourcing strategies that not only meet business needs but also drive enhanced stakeholder engagement, fostering an environment that challenges and motivates service providers to deliver superior outcomes.

Take charge of complex, high-stakes negotiations involving supply arrangements and contract-related issues, ensuring the achievement of improved commercial results that benefit the organisation.

Proactively identify, assess, and manage a wide range of commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical, and supply chain risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise any potential adverse impact on business operations.

Serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert commercial counsel to key stakeholders, guiding them through strategic decision-making processes and helping align initiatives with organisational goals.

Support contract owners by providing commercial advice related to contract management, including the management of payment claims, invoicing, and ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions for full compliance.

Lead, mentor, and develop the Townsville commercial team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages high performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with the company's broader strategic objectives.

Exhibit strong leadership in safety by setting the standard through personal behaviour and driving a culture of safety within the organisation through meaningful conversations and proactive actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
Must have worked at Bravus for more than 6 months
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Law, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior supply chain and category management roles.

At least 5 years of experience in mining services, particularly within contractor-operated open-cut mining operations.

Proven leadership and experience in managing teams to drive high performance and achieve strategic goals.
Desired:

Post-graduate qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, finance, law, or management.
