Our Fintech function is currently going through an exciting period of transformation, innovation and growth and as part of that growth we are constantly looking at ways to evolve the payments experience and deliver maximum value to the customer through our innovative technology initiatives.


About the role


A highly sought-after opportunity has become available for a seasoned Iteration Manager to join our team. Directly reporting to our Crew Delivery Manager, this position is embedded in Payments Fintech Domain within Technology

You will be providing support to our Switch, Settlement and Reconciliation squads facilitating all Agile rituals, identifying and resolving hurdles, and coaching scrum/agile principles in a fast-paced environment.


As part of this role, you will be required to setup up processes to help the team identify opportunities for continuous improvement, as well as identify any internal or external hurdles and helping them resolve. You will lead delivery backlog and cross functionality delivery, including cross project dependency management and co-ordination. You will work with the Delivery and Iteration Managers when planning and committing business change to ensure that the delivery teams can meet those commitments.


You will be responsible for coaching delivery squads through the delivery pipeline in line with Coles technology program of works. You will assist the team to make their work transparent, including conversations with stakeholders as changes and issues arise, iteration reporting and showcases to stakeholders. This includes facilitating and leading Agile inception/planning workshops to align technology and business teams, backlog grooming and feature elaboration.


You will also be accountable for the setup of Agile practices and ceremonies across complex systems of works and ensuring alignment against Agile best practice whilst driving business outcomes.


We are ideally looking for someone with a strong technical background, together with exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive and develop mutually strong relationships.


About you and your skills


  • 5+ years’ experience strategizing and maintaining large programs of work
  • 4+ years’ experience as an Iteration Manager or similar in agile environments
  • In-depth practical and demonstrable experience working in an Iteration Manager role in an Agile environment
  • Understanding of Agile principles, methodologies and purpose
  • Strong understanding of Payments Ecosystem
  • Previous experience working in Switching, Settlement and Reconciliation
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Market knowledge and experience in the delivery and management of retail and technology solutions
  • Excellent skills in leading a team including coaching, having difficult conversations and providing feedback
  • Facilitation experience and able to facilitate agile ceremonies
  • Comfortable resolving conflict and able to facilitate discussion on alternatives and different approaches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of team capability and capacity and effective prioritisation for managing delivery of customer demand
  • Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master, Project Management accreditations highly desirable
