Selection Criteria1. Demonstrated experience in assessing, conceptualising and analysing wellbeing issues, based on the knowledge of mental health/wellbeing and the challenges that affect young people, and providing evidence-based practice.
2. Capacity to provide leadership within multidisciplinary professional teams that fosters collaboration to achieve positive outcomes for students¿ wellbeing, while taking responsibility for team management and direction of work, team wellbeing and actively encouraging professional growth for self and others.
3. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. Demonstrated high level of capability to establish and maintain both internal and external stakeholder relations.
4. Demonstrated experience in coordinating supports for young people with complex needs including referrals to a range of specialist services as appropriate.
5. Proven understanding of youth development, the mental health sector, and relevant Child Safe policies in order to design, deliver or broker professional learning both independently and with other professionals.
6. High level demonstrated ability to provide evidence based and expert advice and consultation to staff relating to student wellbeing and engagement.
RoleRole Title: Wellbeing Manager
Role Purpose: The core role of the Wellbeing Manager is to lead the student wellbeing services across the college. The Wellbeing Manager has an important role in providing feedback in to the college wellbeing strategic direction and overseeing the effective deployment of service provisions.
Strategic Intent: Engagement: To provide wellbeing services so our students have reduced barriers so they can reach their maximise their participation in schooling
Achievement: To ensure our students are supported to be happy and healthy
Role Accountability: The Learning Specialist: Numeracy reports directly to the Assistant Principal and the Principal. The Principal will manage the PDP process.
Role Relationships: The Wellbeing Manager will:
1. Provide high-level coaching and leadership in building staff capacity
2. Provide collaborative leadership to Student Wellbeing
3. Lead a group in the annual PDP process
4. Provide active membership and advice to the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Executive
ResponsibilitiesIn recognition of the importance of exemplary practice for improved student wellbeing outcomes, the key roles of the Wellbeing Manager may include but are not limited to:
1. Lead the college student wellbeing team
2. Oversee the management of the college student wellbeing referrals
3. Oversee the college student wellbeing case allocation and partner with the college Mental Health Practitioner
4. Oversee the consistent implementation/development of college support plans
5. Consideration and Provision of student financial support plans
6. Provide Student Wellbeing Support
7. Coordinate the college supports for Out of Home Care Students
8. Lead and manage the college University Wellbeing Placement Program and their ongoing supervision requirements
9. Provide feedback to the strategic direction of college wellbeing
10. Be an active member of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Executive in delivering improvement as outlined in the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
11. Work with the Department of Education and External Service Providers to secure additional resources/services for students
12. Support the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Disability Inclusion processes to ensure students can participate in learning
13. Support as a school based expert in participating within the Disability Inclusion Profile processes.
14. Connect with our feeder primary schools to support student transition as the Student Wellbeing lead
15. Lead Staff Professional Learning in areas of Student Wellbeing and changes in Department of Education policies/programs
16. Overseeing First Aid team members and workloads
17. Oversee the management of the Wellbeing Subprogram budgets
18. Provide feedback on the needs and development of the Education Support Class
19. Participate in the College Leadership team to support connecting wellbeing and learning through schoolwide actions and initiatives
20. At all times, represent the Buckley Park College community with pride and integrity
21. Other duties as directed by the Principal
