About the role:

This position will be based at our Coffs Harbour Head Office. Under the Supervision of a Mechanical Engineer or Design Draftsperson, this role involves assisting in the development, preparation and completion of engineering drawings, plans and manuals from design drafts & concepts for the HVAC industry. You will receive formal training and guidance from a specialist team in the HVAC industry.

Throughout the traineeship you will be required to carry out the following tasks;

  • You will complete a 2 year traineeship undertaking a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting
  • Use computer aided drafting suite (CAD) to produce accurate designs, detailed drawings & documentation
  • Preparation of working drawings showing plans, elevations, sections, materials and finishes
  • Interpretation of design briefs to prepare and develop sketch plans for client approval
  • Calculate, quantify and prepare schedule of materials & equipment.
  • Undertake site surveys, measures & inspections
  • Support the drafting and project teams to achieve outcomes and deadlines
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager, Project Managers and Site Personnel with drafting requirements
  • Preparation & distribution of Project Documentation & Manuals
