Position Information The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.About the Role A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, and occasionally the library.
Essential Requirements
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
- Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
- Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with teachers and students.
- Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.

Additional Information New Lambton Public School acknowledges the Awabakal people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which our school sits. Our school, located in New Lambton, is a celebrated school of excellence and has proudly served its community since 1880. The Family Occupation and Educational Index (FOEI) rating is 26, which indicates low levels of disadvantage. The wellbeing of staff and students is integral to our school context. Our current enrolment of 537 students in 21 classes includes 31 identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 174 students from language backgrounds other than English, speaking 39 different languages, with students originating from over 40 nations. The school executive structure includes a principal, deputy principal, four assistant principals and an assistant principal curriculum and instruction. Our office structure includes a full time SAM, one full time SAO and one SAO position allocation of 0.962. Our school has recently transitioned from Sentral to School Bytes for all communication and administration. Our front office is busy and requires office staff to work proactively and collegially whilst maintaining an inclusive and positive demeanour.
