Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated leader to oversee our Consumer Category operations across ANZ. This pivotal role focuses on driving HP’s innovation within the retail sector, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and enhancing the overall consumer experience. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in managing consumer businesses, with excellent business acumen and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with large-format retailers. You’ll blend a passion for technology with expert P&L management to design and implement data-driven strategies, stay ahead of market trends, and lead operational improvements while also supporting the development of a talented, high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Vision: Direct category management operations, guiding your team to meet business goals set by senior leadership while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Expand Market Reach: Focus on increasing the category’s presence by targeting large-format retailers.
  • Collaborative Retail Success: Partner closely with retail sales teams to enhance product visibility, refine sales strategies, and optimize in-store performance within large-format retailers.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with marketing, product development, supply chain, and finance to ensure seamless execution of category strategies and alignment across all departments.
  • Drive Insights: Use market data, sales analytics, and key metrics to continuously assess and adjust strategies for sustained growth and improvement.
  • Ensure Effective Communication: Act as a key liaison between marketing and regional customer-facing teams, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful communication.
  • Fuel Revenue Growth: Set ambitious sales targets and execute innovative strategies to drive revenue growth, particularly within large-format retail channels, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Lead with Market Knowledge: Use data and insights to shape category strategies that capture emerging trends, anticipate customer needs, and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Champion Change: Lead change initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence across the business.
  • Support Talent Development: Take ownership of talent management, including recruitment, performance coaching, and career development, ensuring the long-term success of your team.
  • Balance Technology and Profitability: Bring your passion for technology and innovation while effectively managing P&L, ensuring profitability and operational efficiency.

Education & Experience:

  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in category management, P&L oversight, or a related field, with extensive experience in working with large-format retailers and retail teams.
  • 8-10 years of management experience with a proven ability to collaborate across departments and drive growth through cross-functional teamwork.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of large-format retailer operations and demonstrated success in driving retail performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Expertise in business development, go-to-market strategy, and customer relationship management.
  • Solid experience in digital marketing, product management, and strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Thorough knowledge of market research, product development, and new product strategies.
  • Proven P&L management experience, with the ability to balance innovation with financial objectives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage complex processes with precision.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.
