About the Role Reporting to the Head of Maintenance & Outages, the Maintenance Manager for Electrical, Controls and Services is responsible for leading and motivating internal and external teams to safely and efficiently deliver routine and breakdown maintenance activities. This role plays a key part in executing asset management plans and strategies, ensuring operational and financial performance targets are met. The successful candidate will drive a proactive safety culture, manage maintenance budgets, oversee contract performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Business Support teams is essential to ensure maintenance strategies align with business objectives. - Develop and embed a strong HSE culture, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, leading investigations, and driving continuous safety improvements.
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring plant availability, efficiency, and performance targets are met while managing both internal teams and contractors.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth, including managing apprentices and trainees.
- Take ownership of maintenance budgets across OPEX, CAPEX, and asset lifecycle planning, ensuring cost-effective execution of work.
- Drive contract management practices, ensuring external service providers meet AGL’s standards.
- Excellent leadership skills – experience in managing and developing teams in a complex maintenance environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Advanced Diploma, or Trade Qualification with experience in maintenance management with a strong understanding of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
- Experience in asset management and maintenance systems, with a focus on work management, reliability and condition monitoring.
- Proven ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Expertise in managing large industrial contracts, and external service providers.
- Commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
