About the role
selectability is looking for passionate motivated SIL Key Worker to join our growing team!
Supported Independent Living (SIL) Key Worker’s play a vital role in supporting our consumers to live their best life - empowering individuals to build confidence, work towards their goals and improve their mental wellbeing. As a SIL Key Worker you will assist with daily tasks, activities and support our consumers to connect with the community.
Working closely with our Team Leaders the SIL Key Worker will ensure that correct policies and procedures are followed, and the established house rules are adhered to in the SIL service.
We are looking for motivated applicants who are willing to work shift work, regular sleepovers and weekends.
The SIL Key Worker’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- working with consumers to build capacity around decision making, independent living, community access, healthy life choices, while developing confidence and resilience
- monitoring, encouraging and supporting other team members to maintain workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, positive behaviour support plan data sheets, restricted practice audit tools, eg sharps and medication
- reporting inaccuracies or variations and noncompliance to the SIL Team Leader
- facilitating the purchasing of cleaning and office supplies
- providing exceptional customer service to all internal customers
- maintaining professional boundaries at all times
- maintaining accurate and up to date consumer records and documentation
- participating in team meetings, and professional development activities
- working with a range of complex presentations, including those with severe and persistent mental illness, and/or multiple diagnoses
About you
To be successful you must:
- have a positive attitude
- possess clear and effective communication skills
- demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management
- experience working in a team environment
- exhibit an ability to problem solve
- be able to follow policies and procedures at all times
- be able to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals
You will also need:
- a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland drivers licence
- a currently registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle
- First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
- a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
