About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Allied Health Assistant (AHA) – Pharmacy to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services. In this role, you will support the dispensing and distribution of medications to both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations. You may also assist with manufacturing pharmaceuticals, managing inventory, and performing cashier/reception duties as required. Your role will be essential in maintaining seamless workflow and patient care within the pharmacy.
This position is classified based on experience and qualifications. As an AHA Level 1 , you will be supported with training and development opportunities, with progression to AHA Level 2 upon successful completion of a relevant Certificate III or six months of continuous employment (provided performance standards are met). At AHA Level 2 , you will take on greater responsibilities, including technical training of staff, organisation of daily workloads, and involvement in pharmaceutical manufacturing and ordering. About You
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our pharmacy team. You will bring a willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Technical expertise & experience – Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software and a strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, dispensing methods, and medical terminology.
- Strong organisational & problem-solving skills – Ability to follow documented policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safe work practices while managing tasks with attention to detail.
- Effective communication & teamwork – Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds, and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary setting.
- Physical capability & adaptability – Comfortable handling pharmacy-related tasks such as lifting medication cartons, stocking shelves, and operating equipment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and patient confidentiality.
