For a purpose driven client of expertech we are currently looking for a React Engineer | Remix |Shopify | Recharge. In this role you will be responsible for you’ll develop and maintain a composable front-end architecture built on Remix, supporting our e-commerce and subscription features. As part of the team, you’ll collaborate with like-minded innovators who care deeply about delicious products, responsible tech, and sustainable growth. This is an URGENT position that can be worked fully remotely from anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Remix-based Front Ends
• Implement user interfaces in Remix and TypeScript, aligning with our design guidelines and technical requirements.
• Manage route-based server-side rendering (SSR) to ensure fast, optimized, and accessible user experiences.
E-Commerce & Subscription Integrations
• Integrate Shopify storefronts and APIs to power product listings, checkout flows, and customer data.
• Work with Recharge or similar subscription APIs to enable recurring payments, membership tiers, and seamless subscription management.
• Collaborate with our digital team to guarantee a delightful online shopping experience that reflects our commitment to the planet.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
• Partner closely with our creative and product teams to transform Figma mock-ups into responsive, inclusive, and engaging UI components.
• Understand API specifications, ensuring correct data handling, error management, and a smooth user journey.
• Communicate effectively about technical decisions, timelines, and trade-offs, fostering an environment of co-creation and continuous learning.
Code Quality and Performance
• Implement best practices for accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization—because better-performing digital tools mean we can reach and inspire more people.
Continuous Improvement
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines for Remix applications.
• Stay current with the latest frameworks, libraries, and technologies to help our team continuously innovate as we grow globally.
Essential skills and experience
• TypeScript, React (Hooks, context API or similar state management)
• Remix or strong willingness to learn quickly
• Shopify Rest OR GraphQL
• Familiarity with Recharge or similar subscription management system
• Html, CSS
• Responsive Design
• Cypress, Playright
• Gitbased workflows
Desirable skills and experience
• Server-side rendering
• Node
• Custom Shopify storefront
This role would be initially be a 6-month fixed-term contracct, hereafter an extension or a permanent position is very likely. This role is very URGENT and candidates can start almost immediately after a successful interview. The company is Sydney based, although suitable candidates with eligible working rights in Australia who live on the East Coast can apply.
