Health and Wellbeing Queensland (HWQld) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as Chief Operating Officer.
In this critical role, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will be instrumental in driving the execution of HWQld's strategic goals, ensuring that operational activities are aligned with the organisation's broader strategic vision.
Collaborating closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team, you will help advance HWQld's long-term objectives and play a key role in assisting the Queensland Government to improve the health and wellbeing of all Queenslanders and reducing health inequity.
HWQld is the state's prevention agency, committed to creating a healthier and fairer future for Queensland. Through our programs we're turning skills, will and resources into preventive health action and policy, to help improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders. Together we can make healthy happen.

Your opportunity
As The Chief Operating Officer, You Will

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure that HWQld's day-to-day operations align with the organisation's goals. Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Leadership Team to drive innovation, build organisational capability, and advance performance.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including state, national, and private sector partners to advance HWQld's mission and enhance the organisation's impact and outcomes.
• Provide expert advice on business and corporate governance matters and lead the effective governance and management of key risks across the organisation, including operational, financial and political.
• Lead, oversee and integrate functions across diverse teams, building and mentoring high-performing leaders of those teams to ensure accountability and encouraging innovation and driving a culture of ownership and success.
