This position is a key role in the Commercial & Strategy team, supporting the enterprise in the development and delivery of WSA’s portfolio.

You’ll maintain an enterprise-wide view bringing together the key pillars of the portfolio across the programs of Commercial, Operations & Infrastructure

Reporting to the Executive Manager Enterprise Readiness the role will be recognised as an integrator, valued for its forward-looking and action orientation, promotion of transparency, championing consistency and as an advocate for good governance.

Please note: This is a maximum term position to December 2026.

Key responsibilities:

Using established portfolio management methodologies, you’ll work collaboratively across the organisation to review integration, dependencies and risks, and to identify and seize opportunities. Additionally, from time-to-time the role may support key enterprise related projects by partnering with the program owner to structure and drive outcomes.

  • Manage the integrated enterprise roadmap & portfolio Interdependencies using disciplined and flexible portfolio management approach that meets business needs and matures with it.
  • Interact with established project management offices (eg. infrastructure, technology, operations) key and key business areas to establish and provide a rolled up enterprise view to Executive Management as to pathway, progress and risk.
  • Build trust and manage communications with stakeholders to ensure alignment of activities, processes, resourcing and broader team.
  • Effectively plan and execute enterprise-wide planning activities for business creation and transformation.
  • Lead planning activities for WSA at an enterprise level, including the drafting and update of an integrated enterprise roadmap, noting critical path activities.
  • Partner with key programs to facilitate the development of business delivery plans
  • Construct and deliver Executive Management Reporting

About You

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in mid to senior level role in portfolio and project management or business transformation.
  • Highly developed ability to liaise at senior level with a diverse client/stakeholder group and demonstrated ability to inform, influence and negotiate.
  • Experience leading business transitions from concept to construction to operations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Previous experience with complex corporate delivery environments.
  • Ability to build and assess plans using a top-down strategic perspective, and bottom-up inputs-driven approach.
  • Strong communicator with demonstrated ability to develop business insights and communicate them to Executive Management
  • Effective skills in planning, aligning, and situational adaptability/change and ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Solution orientated, with excellent professional credibility and presence.
  • Highly capable in the use of Project Management Software, Excel, SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Maintain a view to the future, building out an understanding (qualitative and quantitative, clear and opaque) of pathways to future state and Ability to risks to success.
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant business or engineering degrees with relevant post-graduate certifications in project and portfolio management.
  • Certification in Agile Project Management discipline, including Scrum master and/or Scrum Product Owner, certification in Project Management Professional would be well regarded.
