Description:

As a key member of the Flight Centre Australia Finance leadership team, your primary purpose is to maintain and display, by continuous evolution, a strong control environment for a dynamic selling business, Flight Centre Brand.


This role is responsible for the financial control environment of the business, elevating the financial health of the brands 320+ Stores, Online and specialist operating businesses through the continual improvement of our financial processes that support the mid office platforms, in addition to leading the financial accounting team in ensuring integrity of the balance sheet and profit and loss results to protect the brand.


The primary focus will be Flight Centre Brand Australia, but the role will co-ordinate opportunities to leverage our global structure to standardise financial controls and processes in all regions on our common platforms.

Financial Integrity & Controls

  • Review and sign-off the Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Lead the engagement with our audit partners on the biannually statutory Audits
  • Budget and reforecasting for the brands support costs and balance sheet activity
  • Stay up to date and implement accounting standards changes that impact our business
  • Oversee the month-end accounting processes and results reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCTG minimum standards for financial systems and processes
  • Maintain and improve our control environment and ensure any risks to the Balance Sheet are understood and minimised within the business

System and Process Improvements

  • Assist with special projects including globalising blueprint for financial controls and reporting across common platforms
  • Work with technology and data teams to constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes both within the finance team but also front-end booking processes

Leadership, Culture and Salary PKG

  • Culturally aligned and able to embrace the FCTG culture and philosophies
  • Salary range on offer; $130k-160k (excluding super) plus a potential 30% upside (based on experience and performance of the business)

Experience

  • Experience leading a finance team
  • Bachelor of Accounting or in relevant field
  • Experience in process controls for new systems
  • Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial
  • CA/CPA qualification or another relevant post graduate qualification
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role with a minimum 3 years’ experience
    in Audit Role
  • Advanced time management and prioritisation skills environment, e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Power Bi
  • A self-starter, able to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet
    deadlines
